Rep. Vargas Statement on President Biden’s State of the Union Address
Today, Rep. Juan Vargas (CA-52) released the following statement after President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.
“President Biden highlighted the historic progress made over the past two years to deliver positive results for everyday American people. He also delivered a bold message that he will finish the job of rebuilding our country and the economy to ensure no one is left behind. His economic plan has created a record 12 million jobs, putting workers first. He also made clear we can continue to invest in America in a fiscally responsible way that reduces the deficit, without cutting Social Security or Medicare. I will work to defend these programs, as well as the safety and standard of living in the communities of my district. I look forward to further rebuilding and restoring our nation with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle.”

Vargas represents California’s 52nd Congressional District which includes the southern portion of San Diego County, including the cities of San Diego, National City, Chula Vista, and Imperial Beach. Vargas was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2012 and is currently serving his sixth term in Congress. He serves on the House Financial Services Committee.
